Q: can someone help me bypass the sensors on my craftsman garage door opener?
I just moved and my new house has a craftsman opener (chain drive) and no sensors, i should add the garage door on the house has them. The door i need help with is on a little shop in back, i live out of town i have no kids no pets and no one with in a half mile its a pain please help.

A: use a jumper wire instead of sensors(between terminal that you connect the sensors to) might work, but not safe. i either would buy some sensors online or call a garage door technician.

Q: How do I stop a CRAFTSMAN garage door opener from beeping?
I have a craftsman garage door opener (model 139.53919) that started beeping a couple weeks ago and it won't go off. The red service light is constantly on. Any suggestions?

A: Pull the plug and then plug it back in. It should reset itself.

Q: Craftsman Garage Door Opener Button Blinks and Remote does not work?
I have Craftsman 139.53681B garage door openers. One of the wired garage door opener green light is blinking and that Garage door does not open with the remote. The same remote opens the second Garage door without an issue. The door that has the problem can be opened with the button inside the garage that is blinking.

A: The opener is in lock out mode which disables the remotes. If you have a wall panel which has three buttons on it, push & hold the lock (padlock symbol) button for approx 10 seconds & the light will quit blinking. The transmitter will now work. If you have just a single button (like a doorbell button) you have to reprogram the transmitter to that opener. Follow the directions at the link below.

Q: programming remote entry for Craftsman garage door opener?
Need help programming a Craftsman garage door opener with a remote keypad. Was installed when we bought the house and previous owners did not leave the owner's manual.

A: On the back side of the operator, there should be a button below where the wires connect to the operator, just push the button in and release, get your keyless entry and push in your 4 digit code you want to use, then hit enter on the bottom of the keypad, the light on the operator should blink on then off to let you know it accepted the code,, thats all thats to it. Same goes for coding in remotes, push in the button on the back of the operator and release, then push your button on the remote. The next time you click the button on your remote, the door should work...

Q: Craftsman Garage Door Opener?
Does anyone know if there is a website that post the manual for a 1999 Craftsman 1/2hp Garage Door Opener?

A: You can get many manuals online for free as a pdf. file at Sears.com, They ask you to register to the "My Home" site for free. You will need your complete model number and maybe serial number off the unit for any parts or information cuz they ain't all alike. Good Luck

Q: craftsman garage door opener?
Recently my Craftsman garage door opener stopped working (the garage door wouldn't open) and I was locked out of my house for the night. I tried replacing the battery, but the door still won't open. I also tried pressing the Orange button on the garage door opener itself to reset it, and no dice there either. I see Sears sells new ones for like $40, but I don't know why my garage door opener that I have would just stop working. Any repair ideas?

A: go in the garage and look at the 2 eletronic eyes.....one is a reciever and one is a transmitter.they both should have little lights on them either green or red.if one doesnt have a light on then it needs to be replace.if both are out check your circuit breaker.

Q: Troubleshooting a Craftsman garage door opener 1/2 HP - 139.53976SRT?
This Craftsman garage door opener is about 6-7 years old. Recently, the wall mount unit (that opens the garage door from inside the garage) stopped working, and the little green light on the gray button that opens the door went from a solid green light to a flashing green light. The remote control openers still work and the keypad unit just outside the garage still works. No one seems to have an answer to this problem, and I would hate to pay Sears the ridiculous service repair fee to fix what may be an easy problem. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

A: You are right about the charges that Sears will charge. It is $65 just to knock on your door. I believe your problem is with the wall mount unit. They have a circuit board in them that can go bad. To verify this, I suggest calling Chamberlain. This is who makes them for Sears. I don't have a number for them, but with a little research on the web, I am sure that you can find it.

Q: Craftsman Garage Door Opener Lights Not Working. What can I do?
I have a Craftsman 1/2 hp Garage Door Opener, Chain Drive with lights burnt out. I tried replacing them with a florescent light bulb but the thing still won't light up. Is something I'm suppose to do before installing new lights or could there be some internal problems?

A: i have a Craftsman also and have the same problem but regular light bulbs work

Q: How difficult is it to replace a gear and sproket kit on a 1/2 craftsman garage door opener?
The garage door opener is a 1998 model, so is it better to just replace the whole unit. How much is a Gear and Sprocket kit? Is the kit difficult to install?

A: we sell gear kit for $45 not that hard to do takes 30-45 min.

Q: Troubleshooting a Craftsman garage door opener 1/2 HP - 139.53976SR?
This Craftsman garage door opener is about 5 years old and works all the time. It just happened, when I press the wall mount unit (that opens the garage door from inside the garage), the Craftsman unit just click and hummed 1-2 sec, and garage door does not move at all. I can open the garage door via manual pull down. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

A: Are you sure that the safety sensors (both sides of door) are not blocked or misaligned. They will stop the motion if that happens. Also check that there are not broken wheels or bent tracks. If the safety sensors look OK, try pulling the disconnect lever to see if it runs without the door being attached. If so it is definitely a door problem.

Q: I have a craftsman garage door opener MDL# 139-53964SRT. How do I adjust the door to close down further?
I have a 2 inch gap at the bottom of my door. The concrete setteled. I need to lower my garage door.

A: Located in the rear of the door opener, there are two adjustment screws, down pressure and up pressure, there are arrows to tell you which way to go just do 1/4 turn at a time. If door hits floor and goes back up you know you've gone to far, adjust the other way til you get it just right .... Happy Motoring

Q: how do you change the code on a craftsman garage door opener?
my dad asked me to find this out because we have to change our code. and this is the code where u push in a certain number and press enter and your garage door will open for instance lets say your # was 1111 you'd press 1111 and press enter and the door would open, well does anyone know how to change the number/code?

A: Your best bet is to erase the memory in the opener so the old number doesn't work anymore. You do this by holding down the learn button in the back of the opener for about 30 seconds. Depending on opener anyways. Then you just hit that button again once and key in your code and hit enter. All remotes will have to be recoded again the same way. If you just simply want a new code just go up and hit the button and punch in your code and hit enter!

Q: how to wire safety sensors on craftsman garage door opener 1/2 hp?
the door works fine in the up motion, but will not run down without holding the button down. As soon as it hits bottom it reverses and lifts back up, also when I release the button. It is a 1990 era opener and I didn't get a manual with it. There are 3 terminals on the back of the unit, I have both safety sensors and the wired remote wired to the first two terminals. The green LEDS are lit up.

A: Do you see a Dial on the body of the Door opener, should be a way to adjust the travel. Should also be a sensor, laser type red light pointing at a receptor, make sure they are in line - if the sensor light is broken by an object, the door will go back up-

Q: Craftsman Garage Door Opener Problems?
I have a garage door opener were the keyless entrys are not working. We have changed the batteries on the key pad and wireless openers but it is still not working. The door will open with the interior opener, but we cant figure this out. We have read the manual 1000 times! It is a 1/2 HP Craftsman. All help would be appreciated thanks. We dont know how to reset it ...

A: This may sound amusing at first as to the silliness of the problem, but you should have this fixed right away, as it having such a garage-door problem makes your house vulnerable as if there were one wall of your house missing. So, if you can't figure it out, for the sake of protecting your stuff, if you can't get a hold of the manufacturer for technical support (good luck, lol, unfortunately), you should definitely seek out the help of local garage door contractors in your area. So, call some around, or, out of convenience, here is a good handyman site I use often, which has a section devoted to door and garage door how-to articles, also has a handy text-link ad a bit past the middle of the following linked page that offers up to four (4) Free estimates from local garage door contractors in your area (after scrolling down a bit on the handyman page linked below, the text-link will say, "Find Local Garage Pros. That's the way to go. Good luck with your garage door problem!

Q: How do i get my garage door back on its tracks? It is a.5 hp craftsman garage door opener?
The power went out so I used the release to allow myself to open the door manually, now we cannot get it back on the track to go up and down with the motor. Any assistance would be appreciated.

A: Your emergency release handle pin is not in the notched out part of the traveller. Pull the emergency handle (Red handle)forward and backward, without pulling down on the spring, you should hear/ feel it click inside the notched out part of the traveller. You will have to cycle the garage operator, and the pin will engage the traveller. your door should operate correctly.
