Q: Where can I find examples/ideas/photos of garage organizers?
want to add shelving, racks, hooks, etc...to better organize my garage. I'd like to have something I can look at to copy/imitate, but can't find anything like that. Any suggestions?

A: Try this: http://www.carguygarage.com/

Q: Looking for garage sale organizer?
I just don't have the time or energy to hold a much needed garage sale. Has anyone ever heard of a person that does this for a commission? If so, how would you locate them?

A: Call a local charity and have them come and pick it all up and give you a receipt and use it as a tax write off. give it to your church, sit it on the curb and watch it go away and as a last resort look under estate sales and call someone, the going rate where I live is 25%. Put the items in Craigs List.

Q: what to price items for a garage sale?
Anyone a master garage sale organizer? I have a sectional(no stains) about 10yrs old, a tony little gazelle workout machine(rarely used) and a kids train table-good cond. (orig. abo$90) what would u price these? thanks for all the help out there!

A: I would price items about 1/2 to 2/3s less the price or so and then mark on the sign or best offer. Then if it doesn't sell reduce the price by 10 bucks or so. Everyone is looking for stuff that is dirt cheep when it comes to garage sales. Its things that you are trying to get rid of not making money off of. Most people are going to try to barter with you. So you can try to make it slightly high but also have a price in mind that you will not go below. Good luck :)

Q: Where do fI find a garage sale organizer (person)?

A: A lot of the time people that own antique stores and used furn. stores also do estate sales on the side. They will look through all of your stuff and charge you a % of what the estate sale made. They will price all your things and get the word out about your sale. However this really only works if you have a ton of things to sell. If you only have a few things, just do it on your own. I would call a used furn. store first. Good luck! :)

Q: Find Information about Rubbermaid Fast Track Garage Organizer?

A: I have these in my garage. They are great! We purchased them from Home Depot. Very reasonable.

Q: Garage Organizer?
Is there any software that lets you plan a little organising project for the garage? I am thinking of a freeware or some online tool where I can model my garage with dimensions (preferably in 3D) and then try different configurations of racks, cabinets etc etc.

A: go to closetmaid.com - I used this for my closets and it was awesome - they have a great 3d designer on the site!

Q: garage sale/estate sale organizer?
Do you think there could be a market to assist people in organizing their stuff for a garage sale? Such as set up, submitting their ads in the paper, organizing, even spending the day running it, for them, and a percentage of the sales? Plus helping some with setting up for items that bring in more $$$ on e-bay? Do you think it should be a straight pay for your work, over percentage? Does this even sound like a desirable thing people wold want done for them???

A: I think people with disposable income would pay for services that they do not have time or energy for. Go for it! I am not sure the best way to determine your fees: but you might just consider an hourly fee based on how or what services you provide: sort, price, set up and collect. Maybe some people don't like set up, but they don't mind running the sale once everythings ready to go. ...good luck to you! -

Q: How to drill into brick motar when drill bit will only go in 1/4"?
My garage wall is brick mortar. I am hanging the rubbermaid Fasttrack rail (organizer). I was able to put one up but now when I drill the bit only goes in about 1/4inch. I am using a drill and bit designed for this material. It's like I am hitting something. I thought it might be rebar but doesn't that run vertically through the brick? I have tried hanging another rail a few feet below the one already up and same problem I can only get about 1/4" into the wall. If I was hitting rebar I should not have been able to place on directly above it. Suggestions would be great! As I am stuck with what to do next.

A: There should not be rebar in the mortar joints of brick. Small rebar is 3/8", the mortar joints in brick are usually not much thicker. There may be some other metal reinforcement there, but it should be rather thin. Your drill may hesitate a bit, but should go right on through. You have a masonry bit, are you using the right drill? You should have a rotary hammer drill. A standard rotary drill will do the job, but you will have to pull it out to clean debris from the hole then go back in. It will be quite a bit slower than it would with a hammer drill. Is the bit in good condition? Have the carbide points broken off? Finally, are you sure the drill is turning the correct direction? Drilling backwards will make a dent, but not really do any major drilling. Probably will ruin the bit as well, so you may need a new one.

Q: I'm thinking of a career change. Would you pay for organization in your life?
I am doing research on becoming a professional organizer. My question is: would you pay someone to organize for you? It could be your office, closets, garage, bills, coupons, etc. This is all so interesting to me and I think I would be great at it. I'm thinking that I am getting laid off in about 6 months from my current job, so I am looking for something I really like and can do for the rest of my life. Thanks for your imput and honest opinions.

A: YES!!! please do it now my boyfriend is a pack rat and i can not seem to get all of our stuff organized before we get our own place. no seriously i wish you could do it for me now.

Q: Can a landlord remove his light fixtures, shelves, curtains & built-ins from a rented home?
I have been a tenant in a house for more than a year and the landlord sent a note saying he was coming by to pick up some furniture over the holidays - which we thought was a dresser and desk he'd left behind 13 months ago. No problem with us there. We always pay rent on time and have never bothered him for anything. He lives over 1500 miles away. However, when we got home we found that he'd removed the light fixtures from the track lighting, the built-in speaker system, curtains and curtain rods, the small shelves that had been nailed in the bedrooms and bathrooms, bathroom mirrors, all the shelving from the garage, the built-in closet organizers, and even the built-in seating on the deck. Anything of ours that was on the shelves he just dumped on the floor. We can't use the garage since he took everything we were storing in there and piled it up on the floor. Some of it is very heavy and we had the movers put it up on the shelves. Then he sent us a note that we need to clean up since the house was listed on the market for sale. Landlords have a security deposit to protect themselves from a tenant trashing a rental, but what does a tenant do when the landlord does the trashing? Also, do you think it is better for us to just find another rental ASAP - we are month-to-month - and leave quietly or is it worthwhile to try to get our rent reduced or refunded. Revenge ($) would be nice, but someone who rips the nice lighting and built-ins out of a house he is trying to sell is probably on drugs or has an untreated mental illness. Not someone I want around my family! p.s. I promise I will only rent from a professional property manager from now on.

A: I'm very sorry for you and your family having this problem. As expressed by another poster, it sounds like your property is being foreclosed on. Your landlord owed you the respect of informing you of his/her plans, because it's now possible that other persons/companies have been given keys to show the property. You're on a month-month lease, meaning that either party can give notice and leave within 30 days. Find out who the current mortgage company is and ask if they're willing to have you remain as a renter while they sort through the paperwork. This could take more than 60 days. Immediately take pictures showing where the personal property has been removed. That way you hopefully won't be held accountable later by the landlord/owner saying that you 'disposed' of the property.
